Physical Chemistry B

48 hours, 3 credits

Undergraduate-level course taught during the autumn semester for students majoring in Material Sciences, Life Sciences, and Environmental Sciences. The lectures cover fundamentals of thermodynamics including the first and second laws of thermodynamics, solution thermodynamics, as well as their applications to phase and chemical equilibria, electrochemistry, and surface chemistry. Basics of chemical kinetics including rate laws and reaction mechanisms are also included.

Theoretical Chemical Physics

48 hours, 3 credits

Core physical chemistry graduate course taught during the spring semester, together with Prof. Zhigang Shuai. My part of lectures covers topics from introduction to statistical mechanics to molecular simulation methods, such as Metropolis Monte Carlo, kinetic Monte Carlo, and molecular dynamics simulations.
